The new volume of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band collection, Jazzing 14, is made up of 13 tracks recorded as part of the 10th Jazzing Festival with special guests such as Scott Hamilton, Joel Frahm, Alba Pujals, Gerry Lopez, Edu Ferrer, Èlia Bastida, etc. and two extra tracks recorded live at the Jamboree, together with Koldo Munné, Scott Hamilton, Josep Traver, Marc Martín, Arnau Julià and Joan Chamorro.
A varied repertoire of 15 tracks, a sample of the work carried out during 2023.
“Currently, the orchestra includes more than 24 musicians with an average age of 13 years. We continue to work along the same lines as always, listening to good references, learning from them and giving opportunities for individual expression both in solos and when singing.
On this album we can hear new voices and young soloists who never cease to surprise me week after week. The system works: motivation through the music itself and the opportunity to be able to express it in concerts and recordings. Balance between the older and the younger, learning from each other and motivating each other” (Joan Chamorro).
