Lluïsa Casagemas i Coll (1873–1942) was one of the Catalan composers of her generation with the greatest international projection. The author of more than three hundred works, she explored various genres, but found in song her ideal means of expression, harmonizing melody and poetry with great sensitivity and stylistic development. This recording presents 23 of her Catalan songs in chronological order, bearing witness to her stylistic evolution.
