The acclaimed Nexus Piano Duo, formed by Mireia Fornells Roselló and Joan Miquel Hernández
Sagrera, announces the release of their new album EMOTIO, published by Columna Música
and recorded at the Petit Palau, Palau de la Música Catalana, on July 28–29, 2025.
EMOTIO is a sonic journey through 20th- and 21st-century Catalan repertoire for piano four hands,
featuring works by seven Catalan composers spanning ninety years of creation: Marc Migó, Robert
Gerhard, Moisès Bertran, Josep Soler, Francesc Civil, Narcís Bonet and Mariona Vila.
The album includes two world premieres: Primera pedra (2024) by Marc Migó —dedicated to the
duo— and the first complete recording of Francesc Civil’s Three Sardanes. It also presents five
previously undiscovered pieces by Narcís Bonet, recovered from the composer’s personal archive.
With more than two decades of international activity, Nexus Piano Duo has become a benchmark
in four-hand piano performance, appearing in major venues including Palau de la Música Catalana,
L’Auditori and Fundación Juan March, and receiving awards in national and international
competitions.
EMOTIO is a celebration of movement, impulse and emotion — the essence of the duo’s musical
identity.
