As they already anticipated, all the songs on "Letra ligada" are sung in Spanish. By removing the idiomatic makeup—their lyrics generally being a kind of personal diary—instead of seeming more vulnerable, it makes them more real and more genuine.
In the texts of this album, imagination and fantasy intertwine with the drifts of daily life, narrating, without intending to, a game of mirrors in which most of us can see ourselves reflected: the buzzing of our minds, what we feel and what we would like to feel, what makes us shed a tear and what brings a smile and helps us move forward.
Musically, Mourn's new album, produced by the Norwegian musician and producer Kenneth Ishak, is apparently a brighter, more pop, less raw, and more effective album, but by no means simpler. With every listen, you can discover new details and appreciate the enormous work and talent behind the arrangements of each song: some clever and subtle guitar interplay, hypnotic and bouncy bass lines, a precise and impeccable, totally unpredictable drum performance, and the combination of the two voices, so distinct and personal. "Letra ligada" is a delight that can only come from a band that has been sharing all kinds of experiences for many years—some very good and others worse. Mourn is a treasure. Discover it!
