Xose Miguélez’s saxophone engages in a dialogue full of complicity with Jean-Michel Pilc’s piano, supported by the solid double bass of Carlos Barretto and the driving energy of Marcos Cavaleiro on drums, creating a soundscape of trust, improvisation and elegance. This live album reflects the quartet’s deep connection, flowing seamlessly between melodic landscapes and rhythmic intensity that keep the listener engaged from beginning to end.
The Galician saxophonist is two-time winner of the Martín Códax Galician Music Awards, he holds a Master's degree in Jazz from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London and a Bachelor's degree in Jazz from ESMAE in Porto. His musical education was further enriched through studies with renowned artists such as Chris Cheek, Ethan Iverson and Jean Toussaint.
Xose teach galician traditional music at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música de Ourense. Additionally, he is an artist for the international brands Forestone - Japan and JodyJazz - USA.
