The British jazz-funk group Shakatak was founded in the early 1980s. They are most recognised for their seamless fusion of jazz, funk, and pop. Their songs include engaging grooves, melodic piano lines, and smooth production.

Incredibly popular in the UK, but they also had a devoted fan base in Japan and other parts of Europe and Asia.
Pop and R&B components mixed with jazz-funk. Frequently featuring refined vocals, groove-driven beats, and a substantial instrumental component.
