After their previous work, “Recreacions tím briques: de Mompou a Bartók” (Selffish Records, 2020), pianist Sergi Sirvent and drummer David Viñolas have embarked on a new musical journey entitled “Recreacions tímbriques: de Satie a Mompou”. To meet this interpretive challenge, they have based most of their repertoire on compositions by French composer Erik Satie and some by Catalan composer Frederic Mompou, along with some original pieces by Sirvent and Viñolas. Sirvent and Viñolas weave an interpretation full of nuances, sensations, subtleties, sonorities, but above all music and beauty. A theme that faithfully reflects the compendium of sound recreations that the project led by Sergi Sirvent and David Viñolas aims at – a project of which they are one expressive unit in equal parts, two halves of a whole.
