Songs of a bird. In which yours truly is the grateful bird on duty. For 20 years now, as a teacher of choral conducting at the Escola Superior de Música de Cata lunya (ESMUC, Barcelona), I have been contributing to the education of many gifted students. During the same
period, Catalan choirs regularly invited me to compose choral works on texts by important Catalan poets such as Ramon Llull, Jacint Verdaguer and Joan Maragall.
So, the idea was born to compile some of these compo sitions in performances by 4 Catalan choirs, conducted by 4 of my former students:
