“ESENCIA” -Latin American Masterpieces for Cello and Piano- is the new album by Venezuelan cellist Gregorio Nieto together with Japanese pianist Riko Higuma. Co-produced by Emilio Solla and Gregorio Nieto, it explores the greatness of Latin American classical music through some of the most outstanding composers. Musical pieces by Aldemaro Romero, Simón Díaz, Astor Piazzolla, and others are included. The album closes with the composition “Invitación al Danzón”, a trio by maestro Paquito D’Rivera, who masterfully interprets the clarinet part together with Gregorio Nieto on cello and Emilio Solla on piano.
