The Jazz House, home of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, has become something truly special. Classes, rehearsals, recordings, meetings, interviews... The video series "The Jazz House Sessions" started in 2018 and with more than 150 videos (and the list continues to grow) reflects part of the band's history, as well as the evolution of the young musicians who participate in these recordings.
The Jazz House is a place to dream and turn dreams into reality. Dreams full of wonderful sounds, of melodies that are learned by listening and singing.
Since 2013, there have been many collaborations with the great tenor sax player Scott Hamilton. They have had it on several occasions at the Jazz House. This album collects songs from four sessions:
1- A "battle" of tenors with Joan Martí and Marçal Perramon, former musicians of the Sant Andreu Jazz Band, in which the atmosphere that existed in this type of sessions is recreated, just as Dexter Gordon, Gene Ammons, Sonny Stitt, Johnny Griffin, Eddie Lockjaw Davies, Zoot Sims, John Coltrane, Sonny Rollins, Paul Quinichette, Lester Young and Scott Hamilton himself along with other great tenor sax players.
2- Some unreleased songs from the session "Èlia Bastida meets Scott Hamilton".
3- Some unreleased songs from the session "Joan Chamorro presents Alba Esteban".
4- A couple of Brazilian songs from a session with Alba Armengou and Vicente López.
In total, 14 songs where Scott demonstrates why, today, he continues to be one of the great tenors of the world jazz scene.
