With an extensive career in the field of jazz, flamenco and classical music, Bernardo Parrilla is an eclectic musician who has participated in numerous and varied projects. These range from the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, the wind ensemble "Nederland Blazers Ensemble", to flamenco artists such as Estrella Morente or José Mercé.
With 'Calle Olmedo', released under the record label 'Blue Asteroid Records', he presents music that delves into Jazz, Flamenco and elements of Latin American music directly. Their rhythms and languages ​​go hand in hand in his compositions, turning the concert into a journey through each style. The sound of the project is born from the life journey of Bernardo Parrilla, from the study, the deepening, and from each experience shared with other musicians around the world. Thanks to each of the members of the quintet, musicians with recognized national and international experience, each concert becomes a unique and unrepeatable experience as it arises from conversation and interaction through each of their improvisations.
The quintet is made up of Guillermo McGill on drums, José Manuel Posadas “Popo” on electric bass and double bass, Álvaro Gandul on piano and Amparo Lagares on cante flamenco.
