This album collects the soundtrack of a show that unites theater, comics and jazz and tells us about how great the Navarrese anarchist militant Lucio Urtubia was through the images, his words, and the beautiful music of the New Jazz Collective. The show “Lucio” is a tribute, a vindication and one more step in his fight. In this transversal intersection between literary, visual and sound language, “Lucio” develops a cubist portrait of the polyhedral character; a fascinating dialogue from different points of view and space-time coordinates that, far from feeding well-off certainties, poses incisive questions that invite reflection and action as soon as one leaves the room.
And in that environment, the jubilant anarchy of jazz is the essential element that permeates all components. Marco Bellizzi (trombone), Juan de Diego (trumpet), Fredi Pelaez (hammond organ) and Hilario Rodeiro (drums) make up the New Jazz Collective that gives shape and body to the sound framework of the work.
Recorded in September 2021, this album includes in 7 great songs of joyful swing the soundtrack that accompanies the life of the great Navarrese idealist to give continuity to his message, and make it resonate in our ears and in our hearts.
