Macromassa has proudly flown the flag of underground experimental music for over 35 years. Juan Crek and Victor Nubla are the core members surviving over a hundred collaborations over the years. The duo's debut release Darlia Microtónica (1978) is also considered to be the first self-released recording in Spain.
Today, Macromassa is back with their latest release Macromassa presenta Armas Mosca. In the duo's own words, "Geometric music with a clear subterranean inspiration, full of stampedes and oily droplets, composed by Crek and Nubla in the Subterranean Neurocratic Centre and adorned with titanic letters that speak of things. Parades of electrocuted clarinets on motorized sequences of the Duy audiogenerator*. A feast of lively subterranean folk."
Macromassa is a key member, along with Esplendor Geométrico and Comando Bruno, of the Spanish industrial / post-industrial scene in the 80's. However, defining Macromassa as just a band is rather inaccurate as the group was active in the improvisation and poetry scenes of the time. As a result, the humor and surrealism of their work makes them difficult to pigeonhole.
