Gonza Magilla is a new project of hand-crafted electronic songs by Juanjo Sánchez previously known for his work in Entr’acte, an avant-rock band from Barcelona in the 80s. After Entr’acte disband, Juanjo settled for many years in the south of Spain. There he was involved in diferent musical projects as a musician, improviser and at times arranged and producer. He made two records with guitarrist Albert Giménez, the second (Maquina a Vapor) on his return to Barcelona, was also a collaboration with La Olla Express.
The original idea of Gonza Magilla was to explore rhythmn and melody through electronic/synth, releasing something like pop sounds sometimes mixed with a weird experimental electronic music. A syncopated soundscape of songs carefuly in sonority, dynamics and timbre based in a Juanjo Sánchez production.
