“La gran onada” ("The great wave") is the tenth studio album of the Girona group. Quite an event, since the great pop-rock band from Catalonia publishes new songs after four years.
Just as the atmosphere of his previous album "Cercles" ("Circles") (2015) was the air, that of "The Great Wave" is water, the sea, which is present in all songs. The wave, the most transformative element in the sea, evokes countless readings, such as climate, social or political.
An album that revolves around love, social injustices, and where Gerard Quintana, (leading voice and author of all songs) is again claimed as one of the great lyricists of our country. Josep Thió (guitar and compositions), who has also taken over the production of the album, makes Sopa de Cabra take a step forward on a musical level with a very elaborate, atmospheric album with many layers and where we find an evolution of the band but without losing its essence.
