Gemini is the newest instalment of the Catalan bassist Jordi Gaspar, one of the more established players in the scene of jazz and improvised music. For this project, Gaspar has the complicity of guitarist Jordi Bonell. Together they focus the compositions and the sound in the combination of the Gaspar’s acoustic bass guitar and Bonell’s guitar. They are accompanied by musicians of unquestionable height: Roger Blàvia on percussion and special guests such as Ferran Savall (vocals) and Raynald Colom (trumpet). Together they form a cast of instrumentalists that is more than adequate in bringing this project to fruition. Gemini kindly suggests an immersion in a musical universe where acoustic sounds prevail, a sound aesthetic in which jazz and Mediterranean tones go hand in hand to walk together in an open attitude that does not ignore the audacity or art resulting from the good work of these top-notch musicians. It is a seamless album, the concept of homogeneous flows from the highest quality music with a unique, captivating and enveloping sound.
