Writer and songwriter, Alessio Arena was born in Naples (Italy) in 1984. He won the Musicultura prize, one of the most important songwriting contests in the country. In Barcelona, where he lives, he published the Ep “Autorretrato de ciudad invisible” and two studio albums, “Bestiari(o) familiar(e) and “La secreta danza”. As a singer he colaborates with the young catalan pianist Clara Peya. They record three studio albums togheter with young catalan songwriter Judit Neddermann. In Italy he published three novels and he composed songs for other performers, as ‘Mbarka Ben Taleb and Flo.
“La secreta danza” (Secret dance) is Alessio Arena’s second studio album and includes 12 original songs in spanish, catalan and italian. Less introverted and more rhytmic than his first album, young italian troubadour Alessio Arena mixes in these songs literate lyrics with flashes of folkloric elements and electronic and jazzy flavoures. La secreta danza is a trip to those hidden places of the human being, which are not always unfruitful zones and where happiness can be fed up. This album features Amancio Prada, El Kanka y Guillem Roma, past and present of spanish music scene.
