Conjunt Atria is an Early Music ensemble that was founded in Barcelona in 2012. As a group we share the same values regarding the role of music in society. Our goals are to transmit a passion for music through our concerts that have a didactic approach and that aim to break the barriers that often separate musicians from their audiences, while providing listeners with tools to help gain a deeper understanding of the language of Baroque music. We have chosen to specialize in Early Music because we identify with its philosophy and the ongoing research that it entails. Focusing on 17th and 18th century repertories, we have performed in cities throughout Catalonia and in France, Holland and Switzerland. Over the years, we have created a number of projects that have come to define our identity as a group. Our annual Chamber Music Course for Amateur Musicians gives adult amateurs who share a passion for music the chance to connect and play chamber music together. Our Baroque Orchestra Workshop offers young musicians a unique and innovative approach to understanding how to play in an orchestra. Atria e(n)s mou is our social project aimed at bringing music to groups and places that have difficult or no access to it. In 2018 Conjunt Atria was selected to form part of the Joventuts Musicals de Catalunya network and to perform in the Juventudes Musicales de España MusaE (Music in State Museums) concerts. We have also performed in music festivals such as the Fringe in Torroella de Montgrí, Barcelona’s Music in Parks, Resonare, Passejades Musicals in La Cerdanya, Musiquem Lleida, Peter de Grote in Groningen and the Fringe in Utrecht. In 2016 our first demo CD was released and we published a conceptual, didactic book in collaboration with Cuscusian*s publishing company. In 2014 we created and premiered the interdisciplinary production Variation, a fusion of music, dance and literature in a unique performance with the participation of artists from other performing arts.
