With a cello, a sax and a combination of classical and electric guitars, Tugores wants to share some of the melodies that have made cinema even bigger.
Tugores' new album is a compilation of great soundtracks that were composed in the wonderful decade of the 1960s, a period where the lyricism of Alex North and Maurice Jarre coexisted, the luminosity of Mikis Theodorakis, the epic of Ernest Gold, the sophisticated melodies by Burt Bacharach and jazz by John Barry and Henry Mancini.
The CD also includes three original pieces by Jaume Tugores: Alfred and Bernard (dedicated to Alfred Hitchcock and Bernard Herrmann) that recreates the disturbing, penetrating and surprising atmosphere that the two masters achieved so many times; Mancini in Brazil, a piece dedicated to Henry Mancini, one of the most loved musicians by moviegoers, musicians and the public; and The Red Castle, a theme inspired by the beauty and grandeur of the Alhambra in Granada, evoking epic and lyrical soundtracks by authors such as Alex North, Miklos Rozsa and Maurice Jarre.
