Josep Fuster is a clarinettist with the OBC (Barcelona Symphony Orchestra - the National Orchestra of Catalonia), a musician known and respected by the public and a renowned pedagogue, especially in the ESMUC (Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya – Catalonia College of Music). As a performer he has always believed in bringing music beyond concert halls. This is why, over the past two decades, he has recorded fifteen compact discs with a varied repertoire, as befits a musician of his stature, constantly evolving and improving.
On this occasion, he brings together pieces of a very different nature, showcasing a variety of creative approaches to explore the aesthetics of the 20th century and part of the 21st century. An arc spanning over a century is established in order to show the vitality of the clarinet as a solo instrument, particularly within the current Spanish and Catalan context. This arch experiences with a wide variety of resources which are vehicles of extroversion and introversion. In such works, we can detect the intention of composing on the basis of authenticity, creativity and a renewal of language
