The present recording features Maria Teresa and Francesc Garrigosa i Massana accompanied by the pianist Alan Branch. The singers are the grandchildren of the composer’s cousin, Joan Massana, who was instrumental in initiating Antoni Massana in his career as a musician, and they have both devoted time and effort to recovering and reviewing the songs of a great composer whose musical career, despite his being one of Catalonia’s leading musical figures, has not been sufficiently acknowledged and whose undeniable life-long talent has sadly fallen into virtual oblivion.
