Dance! is the title of the new album and show by the Messengers where, from the perspective of gospel, they give a new sound to some of the great hits of the legendary Motown label.
The immortal songs of Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie, Stapple Singers, Stevie Wonder, The Tempations, The Conmodores, Bill Withers, Jackson 5, Barry White, Kool & the Gang… are now updated with the sonic color and energy of the Messengers and the original arrangements by its director Ramon Escalé, combining tradition and modernity, gospel and funk, tenderness and forcefulness, respect and risk.
In fact, Motown's golden age was nurtured by the sound that was born in the churches of the southern United States at the beginning of the 20th century with the name of Gospel. All the great stars of Motown learned to sing in the churches, where singing was and is much more than simply singing, where the voice becomes the vital and essential element that unites the community and gives it a voice before God and before his neighbor.
Transferring this visceral way of feeling and expressing oneself to secular music became such a great revolution that it changed music and the way of living it forever.
