Indio, a one-man project by Juan Fernández, presents "El Desierto - Chapter I", the first installment consisting of five themes composed by the artist from Granada, a work that will soon be completed with the edition of Chapter II.
Recorded at Timmy Records studios during the last months of 2019 under the production and supervision of Once Vargas, it has the collaboration of Antonio Peinado on Bass, Maia on Drums, Kiki Vargas on Rhythmic guitar, Roke on Rhythmic guitar and Once Vargas also on guitar. Graphic design of the EP by Inma Fernández.
El Desierto is the result of a whole process of musical maturation by Juan Fernández (INDIO), absolutely vocational and passionate, in which both the references of his original musical tastes coexist, as well as the sound track that has marked his evolution after participating in various initiatives and groups or, what is more decisive, the result of their most current and genuine creative explosion.
The five themes that make up THE DESERT are more than enough to witness a perfectly harmonized explosion of rhythms, nuances, intimate stories, images and suggestions. Music to transport yourself to very recognizable stages on some occasions, and others more intricate on the rest. But in all cases with a true dedication, with contagious melodies and an overflowing harmonic freshness.
Lights and backlights in the form of notes that fall off powerful guitars that pay homage to authentic rock without palliatives; well-marked percussions and a voice, that of INDIO, which is intertwined by the passages of the songs with body, perfectly modulated, enveloping and warm although with the sufficient degree of tear required by its lyrics and chords.
A product that, without neglecting patterns of the most identifiable Spanish rock, also seems to take root with some of the best testimonies of North American southern rock that exalted some of the best bands of the '70s and their subsequent followers.
