“A History of Women in Jazz”, is a project promoted by singer Natalia Ruciero accompanied by Virginia Moreno to the clarinet, Laura Domínguez on piano and Blanca Barranco on double bass.
This project invites you to take a tour of the history of Jazz from a female perspective, remembering the works of women composers, lyricists, instrumentalists and singers, showing their work and contributions, some of which are decisive in the development of the genre. These women deserve to be remembered not only for their music, but also for their stories, since most had to overcome barriers of racist and gender discrimination.
The protagonists of this story vindicated themselves through their music and have become mentors and sources of inspiration for future generations.
