"12 Días is the result of an unpretentious experiment, a musical challenge whose idea was to compose a daily theme, each day in a tone until completing 12. I was in a hurry, calm, lucid or ill, I should not interrupt the creative flow. Every morning I explored the tone of my mood and wrote an idea, sometimes a series of chords, or a more elaborate melody, or a text with a simple line underneath. Anything with a song entity. "
The album includes 12 songs that oscillate between the more paused and intimate side and the proximity to rock or free. Improvised music in song format with a veteran group of musicians with whom Cortejosa shared previous works.
Edited in 2015 by the Sevillian label Blue Asteroid - born in the magical after hours of the Jazz Naima club, at those times where dreams caress the future - includes a beautiful script with texts by Cortejosa, Elie and the poem "El Príncipe" by Amada Blasco Vallés and illustrations by Fernando Rivas, Aurora Villaviejas, Fernando Pérez, Guiridi, Federico Granell, Sergio Olivotti, Inma Serrano, Ximo Abadía, Raúl Ruíz, Jimi Macías, Nanen García and Jante.
