Yuri Mykhaylychenko (known as El yuri), was born in the Soviet Union in 1967.
Influenced by the family environment, he studied music and piano, as well as acting and directing at the Theater University in Kiev.
In Perestroika's time he collaborated with the most important groups of emerging Soviet rock. In the late eighties he shared the stage with "Zvuki Mu", "Avia", "DDT", "Auktsion", "Mongol Shudan" among others. He represented the Kiev music scene in such outstanding festivals as "Counterculture" (Moscow), "ZP" (Tomsk), "Aurora" (Leningrad). His brief journey through the theater life of Kiev was interrupted in 1991 by a tour. A series of concerts with the project "Ivánova Os" for Western Europe took him to Barcelona where he has lived since 1992.

Multifaceted artist, he has collaborated as a musician, composer and actor in multiple projects of high public recognition such as "El Terrat" (TV3), "Fever Sunday night" (Antena 3), "El Chaval de la Peca" (Warner Music), " Yuri and his Cosmonaut Orchestra ”(Mytra records) etc. He composed several soundtracks among which “Lobos y…” (Theater “na Lipkaj” Kiev 2002), “Don Juan” (Dramatic Theater of Kiev season 2003-2004), “Identidad” documentary by Jorge Rodríguez-Gerada etc. stand out. He is a regular in the dubbing of films in Spanish, Catalan and Russian.
Musical producer with more than twenty discs behind him, among which "Cantautar 2" (Vicius) and "The Rebellion of Children" (Daniel Higiénico) stand out.
He is the author of two books of poetry “Poemas sin mas” (Ediciones Caísmo 2008) and this new book-album “Post” (Ediciones Caísmo 2010).
He was one of the protagonists of Sergio Caballero's film “Finisterrae”, winner of the Rotterdam Festival 2011.

The book-album "Post" is dedicated to "post" spaces, to those gaps that are normally generated "after ...". They are small deaths while we live.
Among millions of "post spaces" that occur during our lives there are some gaps that we never managed to fill and that are normally related to cases of loss of loved ones or the breakdown of certain social or sentimental structures. The "post" states could be compared to the lack of oxygen. This state generates poets, junkies and suicide - the most holy trinity of the "Post".

"El yuri" knew how to appreciate the "post" spaces in a very personal way. In 1991 he arrived in Barcelona with two post-important events: the Chernobyl disaster, experienced in first person and the fall of the USSR.

In his new book-album "Post", the Cossack poet gives us a collection of songs and poems full of movement (mechanical devices, winding clocks, music boxes ...) with a great emotional charge. The depth of his texts transports us to places little explored by ourselves.
Each of the 22 songs on the album that accompanies the book has its own entity, with constant changes in instrumentation and different vocal modulations but with a continuous base of permanent vibration that seems to go on forever.
Reading and listening to this book-disk is as if we were transferred to childhood and placed in front of a merry-go-round. We would never know which horse to get on. We all love them.
